Marianne M. Tonjes
Pioneer Achievement Award
The Marianne M. Tonjes Pioneer Achievement Award was established in 2018 to honor Marianne, who had retired after serving as the Executive Director of the Cooperative Organization for the Development of Employee Selection Procedures (CODESP) from 2000 to 2017, and in recognition of the legacy she had left behind in public sector HR. Marianne had been instrumental in the development of public sector HR professionals, and throughout her career, she demonstrated unwavering commitment towards promoting professional excellence in public sector human resources. She was a great friend to CalGovHR and played an important role in the continued growth of our organization, as well as many others, and personally served as a mentor to countless professionals who have gone on to hold key HR leadership positions.
Recipients of the award are chosen by the CalGovHR Board.
